How do we select Host Companies?

Careers360's partners are selected in line with our Host Companies policy and procedures. To ensure all participants receive the best internship experience, all Host Companies must be a registered business and have a project-based internship model with a developed placement information plan.
What kind of sectors and companies do we work with?

Careers360 partners with a whole range of Nigerian companies to understanding what skills they are looking for in a successful graduate and what a graduate in their organization does day-to-day. Our focal sectors include accounting and finance, data science, engineering, global development, human resources, media and marketing, public health and technology.
How long does the placement last?

The virtual project involves 250-300 hours of work, and interns are engaged with company projects to work remotely for 10-12 hours per week.
What equipment and resources will Host Companies need?

A laptop or computer with a web camera, headphones with a microphone, and WiFi with a good connection. Our primary collaboration tool is Microsoft Teams. As the interaction progresses, other tools such as Zoom and Google Meet could be deployed by Host Companies as a redirect link in Microsoft Teams platform.

What should Host Companies do when onboarding interns?

Standard onboarding practices include reviewing policies and procedures and overview of organizational structure. In order for the interns to get oriented and affiliated with the team, a virtual team meeting should be conducted for introductions and briefings on internship objectives within the first few days. This will provide interns the opportunity to ask clarifying questions, as this might be their first professional development environment, and is likely their first virtually-based position. You should also consider introducing the interns to Careers360 mentor who provides thorough, personal and timely support to virtual interns.
What is a typical work schedule for a virtual intern?

Although a key feature of remote internships is the flexibility of the work schedule, Host Companies and interns should agree upon a definitive time allotment per week and per day for internship activities. Shift caps – defining the amount of accrued time allotted for any given task – are strongly recommended to avoid unreasonable work demands on the student and any conflict with reported internship hours.
What are Host Companies financial benefits for hosting virtual interns?

Host companies are free to fix the training fee and would earn 70% of the revenue after 7.5% VAT deduction.
