The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) was established by the Act of Parliament No.15 of 1965 to regulate the practice of Accountancy Profession in Nigeria and to set standards to be attained by persons seeking to be members of the profession. The Institute regulates ethical standards for the profession and has a strong mechanism for enforcing its compliance by all members.


The Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) is a Professional accountancy association with a regulatory authority in Nigeria. ANAN was founded on 1 January 1979, incorporated on 28 September 1983 and was chartered on 25 August 1993 by Decree 76 of 1993. ANAN is also a member of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRCN), which sets accounting standards for the country.


Project Management Professional (PMP) is an internationally recognized professional designation offered by the Project Management Institute (PMI). As of 31 July 2020, there are 1,036,368 active PMP-certified individuals and 314 chartered chapters across 214 countries and territories worldwide. The exam is one of eight credentials offered by PMI and is based on the ECO PMP Content Outline.

West Africa College of Physicians

The West African College of Physicians is a professional society, founded in 1976 for medical specialists in the West African sub-region with six sub-specialties: Community Health, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Paediatrics, Psychiatry and Laboratory Medicine, specifically concentrations in Anatomical Pathology, Chemical Pathology, Haematology and Medical Microbiology.
